Simple sewing tip: Securing the button hole

Imagine this: Your garment is almost finished. All that’s left is to slice up the button holes, but then you accidentally cut too far en ruin the whole thing. ¬†Ever happened to you? Well, I’ve done it more than once, so here is a simple tip to avoid that for ever happening again.

All you do is to place a pin at the endt of the button hole before you cut it. Place the cutter in the opposite end of the button hole and carefully cut until you reach the pin. The pin acts as a safety net so that there is no way the cutter slip and ruin your garment. Cool right?
